शहीद भगत सिंह का भारतीय युवाओं को सन्देश

28 सितम्बर को पूरा देश शहीद भगत सिंह का जन्मदिवस मनाता है. अलग अलग जगह कार्यक्रम होते हैं जो की मात्र औपचारिकता बनकर रह जातें हैं क्यूंकि कार्यक्रम का उद्धेश्य भिन्न भिन्न होता है. राजनेता या तो सिखों को वोट बैंक बनाने के लिए इसका इस्तेमाल करते हैं या युवाओं को भावनात्मक रूप से मुर्ख बनाकर उनका इस्तेमाल करते हैं. इस तरह के कार्यक्रम शहीद भगत सिंह की विचारधारा का सम्मान और उसका प्रचार करने की बजाये गुमराह करने के लिए होते हैं. आज हमारे समाज में हमे विचारधारा के प्रति खोखलापन दिखाई देता है चाहे वह अम्बेडकरवादी हो, गाँधीवादी हो या मार्क्सवादी. तथाकथित नेता अपना हित साधते हैं. इस प्रक्रिया में देश का कितना नुकसान हो रहा है कोई नहीं समझता और न ही इसके लिए प्रयास किये जाते हैं. यहाँ पर हम भगतसिंह के युवाओं के प्रति विचारों का वर्णन करेंगे.

World Philosophy Day was proclaimed by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) to be celebrated in every third Thursday of November. It was first celebrated on 21 November 2002. It is celebrated to honor the philosophical reflections and works of philosophy by people around the world. Philosophy is the stepping stone for innovations and creative ideas. It has been the foundation of progress through many centuries, acros…s cultures. On this day people get together to exchange problems, ideas and solutions to make this world a better place to live. In these strife-ridden times, philosophy is the only hope towards world peace. It brings democracy, justice, human rights and equality into the forefront. Reflection of world issues and solutions to problems of the humanity are the focal point of philosophical analysis.
This year World Philosophy Day is being celebrated on November 20, 2014. The Centre for Positive Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Studies (CPPIS) in association with the Department of Philosophy, P.G. Govt. College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh is going to celebrates the World Philosophy Day through an essay-cum-presentation competition for students. The details are given below:
Theme: Youth and Indian Education System
Subthemes: Students can choose any topic reflecting on the theme.
Eligibility: Undergraduate student from any stream.

Last Date of Submission: 30th October, 2014.

Procedure: Participants have to submit an essay about 1000 words, neatly written or typed in Hindi or English languages and should reached us till 30th October, 2014 or email to cppiskkr@gmail.com or philgcg11chd@gmail.com along with registration form. In the second stage selected essays will be presented on the scheduled date.

Benefits of Participation:
Selected candidate will be provided a merit certificate with a prize and essay will be published in an online publication of the Centre.

Report on Teachers’ Day Celebration-2014

The Positive Philosophy Society of P. G. Govt. College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh organized an event on “Teacher’s Day” on 3^rd September, 2014. The details of the function are  given below:

• Kanchan coordinated the function and discussed the importance of the programme. The programme started with an address by Ms. Shavnam Khan, she introduced students about the objectives of the society.
• Nidhi (Editor) introduced the objectives and content of student-magazine “SOPHIA”. She also informed students that the magazine will be issued on two special occasion’s viz., Teacher’s Day (5th September) and World Philosophy Day (Third Thursday of November of every year). Ms. Nidhi inaugurated it with other associate members and distributed the same to all students of philosophy. Ex-students of philosophy Ms. Manju Chauhan, Ms. Rajni Bala and Ms. Neha Choudhary interacted with new students.
• The following students were selected for the working committee for the session 2014-15 and the ID Cards were distributed to them by Ex-students of the philosophy departments: President: SHAVNAM (BA-III, 1150), Vice-President: ARNIKA YUMNAM (BA-II, 10144),  Secretary : MANISHA JOSHI (BA-I, 266/14). Associate Members: SRISHTI SHARMA (BA-III, 1704), SANDEEP KAUR (BA-II, 10023), ROSHNI (BA-I, 429/14), NIDHI SEMWAL (BA-I, 158/14), Editor (Sophia: Student Magazine): NIDHI (BA-III,1234), Class Representatives: Jasveer Kaur (BA-III, 1087). Sharandeep Kaur (BA-II, 10039), Kanika Mehta (BA-I, 602/14), Neha (BA-I, 776/14).
• Neha Choudhary, Ms. Shavnam and Ms. Arnika Yumnam honoured for their excellent score in BA.Final, BA Second and BA First Year examinations (2013-2014) respectively.
• Teacher-Incarge, Dr. Desh Raj Sirswal also inaugurated a new student study material page : Elements of Philosophy (http://philgcg11chd.wordpress.com) , which is developed according to the new syllabus of semester system and he also motivated students to do best in their academics and to create an attitude to learn more. He encouraged students to write and explore their thinking through creative initiatives.
• On this, occasion a welcome party too given to B.A. First year students by senior students. They also participated in several activities organized by senior students. All the C.R.s of all classes and students enjoyed the function.  A special thanks to Ms. Rajni Bala, Ms. Manju Chauhan, Ms. Kanchan, Ms. Neha, Ms. Nidhi and other students for their valuable efforts and contributions to made this event successful.
